Yes If you are an Intersect member, are you currently contributing to any working groups or committees? If so which? Membership and Community Committee
Please summarise your contributions to the Cardano blockchain, ecosystem, and community to date. The Eastern Cardano Council brings together a broad range of members who have been contributing to the Cardano ecosystem from East Asia, South East Asia and Oceania for many years. Members have contributed as Cardano Ambassadors, SPOs, project builders, Catalyst contributors, Intersect working group members, event organisers, and much more. Individual contributions are detailed in our member profiles document, available at https://t.ly/ugpdk.
With regards to the 5 measures of competency, and with regards to your contributions summarised in the previous question, please describe why people should vote for you. The most important competency the Eastern Cardano Council provides, that would be invaluable to the Constitutional Committee, is the ability to communicate with the community of non-English speakers in Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. This would help bolster the legitimacy of the Constitutional Committee and decisions it makes for community members who would otherwise find it difficult to get access to and understand this important component of decentralised governance. Further, our members have civics experience, both in practice within communities and in the research field of blockchain governance. We have members with computer science and technical expertise, to be able to understand how the more technical governance actions should be interpreted in relation to the Constitution. Being able to effectively and securely use the tools required to interact with and process on-chain governance actions, is something all our members are comfortable with. Several members have already interacted with the on-chain governance process on SanchoNet. More information about our individual competencies is available in our member profiles.
Why is decentralized governance important to you? As covered in our member profiles, we all have different reasons for valuing decentralised governance. This is actually something we consider to be important in the makeup of our group, as decentralisation itself is multifaceted, so considering it from different perspectives ensures we can reflect the values that we and others in the community have.
What perspective would you bring to the committee if successful? We are a diverse group culturally, professionally and in skills/experience. This allows the Eastern Cardano Council to represent the perspectives of all our combined communities (geographic, industry, social, etc.). As some of the Constitutional Committee seats will be held by individuals or organisations that have narrower perspectives and concerns, groups such as ours with diverse perspectives will provide extended representation onto the Constitutional Committee. See our member profiles for more details about our variety of perspectives.
